Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was a kid she attended the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she made the decision to be an actor. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. When she was 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was also the most successful film during 2001. Its opening weekend and day sales were record-breaking. Critics were impressed with the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the movie.
